THE AUDITION

The next day, Ash woke up feeling excited. He had a new school to explore and new friends to hang out with. He got dressed and headed out the door, eager to see what the day had in store for him. As he walked to school, he thought about the group of girls he had met yesterday. They had been so friendly and welcoming, and he felt like he had known them for years. He wondered what they were like outside of school, and if they would really want to hang out with him. When he arrived at school, Isleen was waiting for him outside the classroom. She smiled when she saw him and said, "Hey, Ash. Are you ready for the audition today?" Ash's heart skipped a beat. "What audition?" he asked. Isleen looked surprised. "You didn't know? Our school is putting on a musical, and auditions are today. I thought you might want to try out." Ash felt a surge of excitement and nervousness. He loved music and singing, but he had never performed in front of a crowd before. He wasn't sure if he was ready for an audition. But Isleen was already pulling him towards the auditorium. "Come on, it'll be fun," she said. "I'll be there with you." As they entered the auditorium, Ash saw a group of students gathered on the stage. They were singing and dancing, and Ash felt a pang of envy. He wished he could be up there with them, showing off his skills. Isleen led him to the sign-up sheet and encouraged him to write his name down. "You never know, you might be amazing," she said. Ash hesitated for a moment, then took a deep breath and signed up. He felt a thrill of anticipation as he imagined himself on stage, singing his heart out. The auditions began, and Ash watched nervously as student after student took the stage. Some were amazing, and some were not so great. Ash felt a bit intimidated by their talent, but he tried to stay positive. Finally, it was his turn. He walked up to the microphone and took a deep breath. The music started, and he began to sing. At first, his voice was shaky and uncertain. But as he got into the song, he felt more confident. He closed his eyes and let the music take over, pouring his heart and soul into the words. When he finished, there was a moment of silence. Then, the room erupted into applause. Ash opened his eyes and saw Isleen and her friends standing up, cheering him on. He felt a surge of pride and joy, knowing that he had done his best. As the auditions ended, Ash felt a sense of accomplishment. He had faced his fears and put himself out there, and he had done well. He knew that even if he didn't get a part in the musical, he had gained something more valuable - the confidence to pursue his dreams. As he walked out of the auditorium with Isleen, he felt grateful for her friendship and support. He knew that with her by his side, he could conquer anything. And he couldn't wait to see what other adventures awaited him in his new high school.
